History of the Allotment Movement in England Dr Judith Hill MA PhD researcher and lecturer, will be giving a talk on the history of the allotment movement. Dr Judy Hill is a former lecturer in history at the University of Surrey and highly regarded for her ability to bring the social history of the 18th and 19th centuries to life for modern audiences. Allotment BBQ Falkland Arms
Following the success of last year's event, we will be having another DAHA Members' BBQ at The Falkland Arms in Dorking on Sunday 28 June 2026 from 4pm with a quiz. For those who don’t know, The Falkland Arms is on Falkland Road – postcode RH4 3AD. Mole Valley Squash and Pumpkin Show 2026
Saturday 31st October 2026 will see the return of the Mole Valley squash and pumpkin show for its 17th year. Everybody is welcome to enter their garden or allotment grown pumpkins, we have eight different classes covering pumpkins, gourds, butternuts and the bizarre as well as the very big AND a culinary class. Guest Speaker and AGM 2026
Ray Broughton will be giving a talk prior to our AGM, on the topic of "Cultivation and Pruning of Fruit Trees". Ray trained at RHS Wisley and has been teaching a wide range of horticultural subjects for over two decades. Awarded a fellowship by the Chartered Institute of Horticulture for his service to horticulture, Ray was a Senior Lecturer at Sparsholt College, sharing his passion for his work.
