DESCRIPTION:\n \n	Unfortunately due to illness our speaker is unavailable so this talk is cancelled/postponed.\n  \nHistory of the Allotment Movement in England \nDr Judith Hill MA PhD researcher and lecturer\, will be giving a talk on the history of the allotment movement. Dr Judy Hill is a former lecturer in history at the University of Surrey and highly regarded for her ability to bring the social history of the 18th and 19th centuries to life for modern audiences. Judy has a deep interest in the evolution of gardening and frequently gives lectures on related topics. \nThis talk is free to attend for members. DAHA membership costs only £5 per year and includes free access to our talks (2-3 a year)\, heavily discounted compost and sundries and the odd pre-arrange day trip to an RHS garden. \nAllotment holders and gardeners are most welcome to join us. \n
